The Problem
Our client had difficulty with creating contacts and client within Clio, a law firm specialised cloud based software that handles practice management, tasks, contact management and more. The time it would take to create a client was taking up more and more time with each month especially with the influx of clients and contacts.

The Solution
We incorporated the already in place Microsoft forms for gathering the information for new clients and contacts and incorporated the Clio API to automate the creation. Using Microsoft Forms gave a familiar and user friendly approach to data entry, then create the client using all of the data provided.
This saved time as the information is going straight into Clio rather than having to be processed by an admin team. Confirmations to admin and the user were also added for reassurance and to act as a record. The data was also added in a SharePoint list for tracking.
This system was further enhanced by linking to the new step of creating a matter that also directly links into Clio.
Alternatives and Additional Options
- Further error checking – If incorrect data is entered this can be checked and sent back to the user for correction
- Power App – Rather than using a Microsoft Form, a dedicated Power App could be used instead
